Gary & Ron,
What a great system these tracks are. We put them on our Rhino 700. Drove to our Utah cabin out of Richfield @ 9600' last week. 48"-60" of snow. No one else had been up since the latest snow about two weeks prior. Made it all the way, about 8 miles, without a hitch until I pulled up along side the cabin. We fell into the drift that slid off the roof. Had to dig it out, but otherwise a great trip.
Thanks again. They did everything you said they would.
Sincerely,
Gary Graham |

Top of the Morning Again,
I hope you don't mind me writing so much. I just enjoy the product you sent me so much & enjoy telling you how pleased I am with them. Anyway ......
I just returned from a great day of rid'in. Did I mention these tracks are amazing ?? I can't believe how I can just putt thru the deep snow weaving in & out of the trees. Or gun it & have the snow flying all over me. I just had a blast today. At one point, I was riding down the groomed snowmobile trail when I decided to see if I could make it up this small embankment & then continue thru the powder & do some weaving thru the trees. So up the embankment I go, thru the powder & just enjoying the hell out of myself weaving thru the trees & then down a 10 ft embankment & back on the trail ........... Oh, did I mention that I forgot I was in two-wheel drive the entire time ?? Amazing !!!!!!! I put the bike in two-wheel earlier when I was on the trail & forgot to shift it into four-wheel drive when I took off up the embankment ........... & the tracks just never slipped or gave me any indication that I was going to have problems .......... when I realized I had just drove that section in two-wheel drive, I stopped, turned around & was just amazed at what the tracks & the bike had just done. I had the biggest grin on my face as I continued back down the trail.
About the track coming loose. I assume some bikes may have a complete circle of a hub for the wheel, therefore the reasoning for the allen head screws not going completely thru the hub adapter. But as I wrote, in my case, I don't have that issue & going from the 1 1/4 inch screw to a 2 inch screw with a nylon nut on the backside (a long with locktite) cures any change of the screws becoming loose. I will take your advice however & make these scribe marks to double check. Thanks for the idea.
I hope you don't mind, but the sun was out this morning & I took a few flicks. So I've attached a couple & I think they are much better than the ones I sent yesterday.
Thanks again .......... Oh yeah, my wife is not real happy with you right now, but she'll get over that ....... at some point !

Gary,
I can't tell you about Blackwell rd. at Pierce. I take the Grizz from here (Elkhorn meadows) Up on Wilson, follow the ridge, up Santa Peak and then trials back to Blackwell. I don't know the road conditions. Sunday, there was 2'-3' of fresh powder all along the ridge. It has snowed since and up to 18" inches predicted for Wed.. I did not get all the way up to Blackwell divide. It was getting dark and nobody knew where I was at, so I had to turn around and head back. I had just had a heart attack when I stopped and talked to you this Summer. I was on my way to the VA hospital. (No joke) Most of time I am by myself when I explore, can't wait on people and I don't know anyone else who has tracks. I now carry a Spot satellite locator. So far it seems to work.
I have been pushing so much snow with the Grizz here and for neighbor's I have not had the time to explore as much as I want.
I have a friend who has a place up on Crystal. He just bought a new 09 Grizz. I am trying to talk him into buying the Tatou 4s. He has a 660 Rhino with tracks, I think Xj's. They told him, at the Yanaha dealer in Moscow, he could not put them on his new Grizz.
I hunted Elk hard this year, mostly over at the Beaver creek flats. Saw several in dark timber, asses and legs. They were in there but no good shots. I had some great hunts and that is why I hunt.
Here are a few shots from Santa Peak. Nice talking to you again. Thank you again for turning me onto the tracks. They have opened up new vistas of exploration.

Our first ride on our new Tatou 4S tracks was amazing! All Ron's advice in setting them up was pricless. We went out and tortured them. We started in wet dirt/slush and ended up in over 3 feet of fresh snow, with 5 foot drifts in places. We even had to climb over a log to get back down a trail after we couldn't traverse the bowl leading to the back side of Lake Elsie due to the angle of the snow.
We then almost conquered another peak, having to break trail over 3-4 foot snow drifts/tree wells. It took me 7 or 8 tries but I made it over a steep side hill and eventually ended up facing a 5 foot tree well drift in the trail with no way up or down around it. We learned the easy way to get an 8'6" foot quad turned around in less than 12 feet of space.
I would recommend the Tatou 4S tracks to anyone. Neither of us had power steering and we feel fine today. I thought we would be so sore we couldn't move. We plowed through snow I never thought an ATV could get through. Anyone who has doubts about the value of a track system? Not us. We're hooked!

Ron the tracks allow me to hunt places early in the season that others simply can't get to.We can't believe where we can go with these on.Best modification i could of possibly have done to it by far. They are rally simple to change back and forth between tracks and tires,a very well engineered product.I would reccomend them to anyone looking to have some fun!

Gary,
Had the first chance to try my new Tatou 4S tracks in the snow. I talked to a few Vermonters who were under the misapprehension that a snowmobile could go through deeper snow than a tracked ATV, Nonsense! I went up to the top of Pinnacle mountain up a 30°+ grade in a foot of powder with my son on the back of the ATV, and never looked back.
This is the most fun you can have with your clothes on. |

I just buy Polaris Propestor Pro -S track for my 2007 sportsman 500 X2.
My first try was in 3 ft off salt snow condition and wasn't impressed at all. My buddies all rides Tatou track and they never get stuck that day.
Me I was winching all day cause seem to have no flotation with the propestor.
My question is, to your experience, should I change to tatou 4s or retry my prospector (toe out wasn't good).
Thanks a lot for your advise

Comments: Gary About a month ago i bought a set of commander/rubber tracks only/ to be put on polaris prospecter skid frames.at the same time i installed polaris,s new all season track set up for the wifes machine Weve been out twice on both machines. I think the polaris track set up rides smoother and maybe a little less rolling resistance. How ever last weekend we were out for a ride to one of our favorite spots, i was in front the wife behind on her machine, snow was deep but firm, wife called on radio said she couldnt get around a steep switch back corner shed tried backing up and gitting a run at it but wasnt going anyt futher. I came back down and tried but couldnt go any futher either. with the commander tracks on my machine she got on with me, we rode double the rest of the way to top. very impressed with the commanders you sold me thanks for helping with figuring if they would work on the polaris skid frames, they do,and work better than the old polaris tracks, and far better than the new 4 season traks thanks again for your time, and personal service. I just wanted to tell you how happy we are with the
Tatou 4's tracks, we start at 5000 feet in elevation and end up about 30
miles away at 9000 feet. This is our second season with the Tatou's and
they have performed flawlessly unlike others I have tried. I use them on
Arctic cat 700 TRV's and a 650 Prowler and a 1000 XTZ Prowler. I use
them for fun and to repair cell sites on mountain tops after storm
damage. As you can see from the photo's they are almost unstoppable and
a lot of fun. Thanks, Jay Read. |

Thanks for suggesting the Tatou tracks for my minitruck. The custom part of the install went very easy. I was able to modify the brackets that were sent and make them work well with the minitruck. It took my a few hours to decide how to properly attach the brackets...but only an hour or so to make it happen. Install from that point was simple with the direction supplied by the manufacturer.
It was a pleasure doing business with the guys at atvtracks. Thank you. |

Ron,
Ok, the tracks worked great...went up to our cabin in Chester for the
weekend. It's 12 miles in on snow in the ranger just to get to the
cabin...no problems at all...had to tow out a quad on the way out. Came
across him buried in the snow at about 5 o'clock at night...he would have
had a cold night.

gary and ron,
I recently installed 4s tracks on my razor and wow what a set up. we started
at 4800 feet and ended up at 9000 feet ,with some mud some soft and 3 feet
new powder. This is an incredible go machine now. we had the opportunity to
pull out 3 quads and sent them home . the advice i received from the two of
you has been flawless from what to buy to tech and setup and for this i thank
you.
at this time I have almost 300 trail miles on them and not 1 problem the
quality is un matched .my friends have apachie and prospector tracks and I
end up being tow truck every trip.
Thank you
