DESIGN :
Camoplast, has come up with the best soft powder track on the market. Instead of running the track over the drive gear (like all other competitors) they have designed the only system that runs the track under the drive gear . This means you can make the track much longer and eliminate the inside distance between the front and rear track. Normal distance is 1.5 to 2.5 feet on single seaters, the giants is about 8 inches. This means it is almost impossible to high center. When driving tracks that have a drive gear on top you can not make the track very long because it will interfere with your fenders and rub. This is why Camoplast put the drive gear on top of the track. Camoplast has also used an install system similar to the TRAXION concept in that you buy the tracks and then you get the install kit per your application. The benefit is that if you change vehicles you can for about 500 Dollars buy the new install kit and still use your same track. The basic design is good for most single and double seat ATV'S for normal use on all trails. There is an optional bearing and side plate reinforcement kit for Kubota's and customers that want to get off the normal trails. I recommend this to almost all side by side ATV'S. For the extreme single seat drivers in deep snow they also have an optional brake steering system that fits Kawasaki , Suzuki, and Yamaha only. It does not seam to matter on steering on side by side ATV'S because they have rack and pinion steering.
SPEED:
This is still gear reduced system and you will loose 30 to 40% top end speed but you will need the low end power to plow through three feet of soft deep snow. All gear reduced systems require a lot of fuel. You will use twice as much as on tires. The advantage is they do not sink and high center in extremely soft snow and in soft snow they do not steer to hard, but in mud deeper then one foot and wet snow if you are going downhill off trail and have to go around trees you will need a lot of arm strength. This product was not designed for going off trail but more for going to remote areas in soft snow on semi straight trails. These are great for cabins roads no one else has been up all year on. You can drive them any time you want and not have to worry about getting stuck.
STEERING;
IN deep soft snow and relatively level side by side they steer easy, it does not matter how steep of terrain. If you are to go cross country and a lot of up and downhill trenches it is very tough. The long tracks have great traction but are a little hard to steer on single seaters. Side by Side ATVS have rack and pinion and are a lot easier to steer.
INSTALLATION:
The first time set up is about 2 hours. After the first install to put your tires or tracks back on are 4 lug nuts and four bolts. This is very easy to reinstall . About 45 minutes. The instructions are the easiest and best on the market.
MY OPINIONS:
If you are traveling on a roads and very steep hills these are the tracks you need, they are not the best for logs or steep creek beds because they have a very flat footprint for deep snow and the front track is not curved up very much so you tend to get stuck on logs over 12 inches tall. The tracks steer very hard on single seaters in wet snow when doing cross country but not bad on two seaters because they have rack and pinion steering. I recommend these if you have to get there and do not want to get off the main steep trail.
LIMITATIONS:
These are not good for going off trail if there are a lot of logs or steep trenches. But if there is 4 feet or more of fresh snow and you are willing to stay on the trail or ridges these will get you there.
WARRANTY:
